Hi Linda- Apologies if my post was confusing. I'm not saying that *you* become virus prone if you subscribe to a list that uses email commands. Rather, as an ezine publisher,if one of your subscribers contracts a virus, it can spread to their whole address book, opting people from their add. book in to YOUR ezine via YOUR subscribe email address (which is also in their address book.) Suddenly and unwittingly, you have become a spammer.

Aha, now I get it. Even if you virus scan everything coming in, you aren't safe. It's the silly subscriber with a virus that is the problem.

How can you tell if your list uses email commands?
People who subscribe to my ezine sign up using a form either at my site, or from the ezine itself (if someone sends it to them), and then they get the ezine via their email address.
I use relevanttools to manage the whole thing...
Could I inadvertently get myself and others infected?

Ok... checked with the people who take care of sending out my ezine, keeping my data base and all that other good stuff (Relevanttools.com).
Didn't quite get the whole explanation... but I was reassured that the form people use, and the way the mailings and autoresponders are set up, are different from the email command method we have been discussing.
