I am really frustrated right now. I want to host with ezezine, but I don't have the money for the pro account which is what I need. I was hosting my account with another provider and 2 subscribers falsely accused me of SPAM. I don't really know what my rights are and how I can prove that it wasn't SPAM. One of the ads I ran had a line in it that read as follows "(5) The op'portunity to b'uy targeted signups from us cheaply," and the owner of the autoresponder said that line made the ad refer to spam. Please help me out with this. I'm really upset right now. I had to find this out the day before my ezine goes out and the week before I'm starting a major jv campaign. GRR.

Hi DeAnna-

Your recourse for the spam accusations is to prove the date/time/location and from what IP the accusatory subscribers signed up with and from. This is exactly why it is so essential that folks use a web-based double opt-in process, precisely so that this data is collected and can be retrieved on demand.

Also, if you are running 3rd party ads in your ezine, it's a good practice to let folks know this when they opt-in.

As far as EZezine is concerned, I'm sure that you understand why we have to charge for certain features beyond our free level of membership. If we gave it all away, we wouldn't be able to afford our DSL connection ;-)

Hope this helps,
lisa

Ask a few of your subscribers to pitch in the cost.
Maybe you can get 4 or 5 subscribers to send you
a few dollars each month.

Hi DeAnna,

I had an anti spammer attack me and here's how I got him. he managed to get my autoresponder to shut me down for 24 hrs. I wrote to my autoresponder and send his request to be subscribed from the Ad Coop. That was proof enough and got me reinstated.

I have not had a problem since, over 2 years. Here is what I have in my newsletter the A-Y-B
http://advertise-your-business.com/new_page_10.htm
You will see that straight off the bat in the beginning I let my readers know this is subscripion only and how to unsubscribe. Then the little legal stuff at the end of the newsletter. Plus I give them some legal stuff about accepting 3rd party advertising, in the welcome letter. That way you have all your basis covered.

When you accept 3rd party advertising put a disclaimer at the bottom. This ad is bought to you by your ezine and we do not claim any responsiblility for the content of this ad
One more thing you probably do this Your name and address should be at the bottom of all email sent out.

if you do this I do not think you will have problems again.

Antispammers are a pain but do not let them stop you. we writers will be heard.

Need any help please do not hesitate to contact me
A good autoresponder that will not cost you an arm and a leg is ProAutoresponder.com
