I ? each month about writing another article and sending it, given I have about 10-20% that are kicked back...very discouraging...

Hi Jennifer-
There are so many factors that influence bounce backs. The most important thing you can do in regards to this, if you are the one actually receiving the bounce backs, is to read what they say.

Every bounce message should contain a reason as to why your ezine was not delivered. Some examples are:

~ mailbox full
~ service refused
~ no such user
etc.

Can you give us some examples of what these messages say, so that we can help you out?

best,
lisa

Hi Lisa,
I don't get these messages. I actually use your service and from what I "see" is only the info I have as a tool to see what is undeliverable. Maybe I am missing something?
In addition, I have people tell me they don't get it and are not on this list..so there is quite a number...
I am wondering about sending a second one that is webbased....

Jenn

Hi Jenn-

Hmmmm.... I sneaked an admin peak at your account, and you've only had 10 bounce removals. That's not 10% at all! (You'll be glad to know that the new system will tell you WHY someone bounced:-) )

So, let's look at this from a different perspective. Here are the major reasons for bounces:

~ Your ESP is blacklisted. I can tell you that's not the case with EZezine.

~ Your subs need to add you to their address books in order to allow your mail. This tends to be specific to some ISPs and email providers.

~ No mailbox. This is a bad address, no email address exists.

~ Mailbox full/over quota

There's a ton of other reasons, but these are the major ones.

The age and cleanliness of your list also are contributing factors.

Hope this helps,
lisa

Hi Lisa, thanks!
It is not these, bounces that I know of that bother me...it is several people who are not "showing" that have emailed me, saying "where is your newsletter, ....we love to read it"....this has been happening more and more. I then, manually send them one...

However, I do beleive that sending a weblink, suplimenting my first attempt is the way to go....I know that pictures are many times "eaten" and I do have a nice logo and HTML across the top...

I know RSS is a great way to go, but I really don't think most of my subsscibers are that savvey as yet......

it is all a big learning curve!!
in Adventure and Abundance,

Jenn
